B Paed (Arts) ; B.A.(Hons) Sport Science ; BA (Hons) Biokinetics
Accredited Centre of Diabetes and Endocrinology Educator
Biokinetics Association of South Africa Regional Chairperson(KZN)

I started out as an Educator of Physical Education and Human Sciences. I taught for 10 years and was seconded to regional Sports and Development offices for two years. An injury on duty left with me very weak knees and as result I was unable to function effectively as a P.E teacher. I was determined to continue in my career path and I researched ways for me to regain functionality and found Biokinetics. Within six months I was back on my feet, and ready for a new career.

With my second son only two months at the time, I registered for Biokinetics in 2003 and have enjoyed success with absolutely NO REGRETS! My interests with Biokinetics focus in medical rehabilitation, pre- and post-operative rehab, and I have a passion in Cardiac Rehabilitation. It is this passion that has driven me to complete the Advanced Training in Diabetes Care for Health Care Professionals. I am now the only accredited and trained CDE Biokineticist in KZN. I started in private practice 2005 at the Bluff; in 2008 I expanded to Umhlanga Medical Centre and April 2009 Ethekwini Hospital. I pride myself in my work and my rapport with my patients. I am driven and passionate about helping people improve their quality of life and my patients will bear testimony to that.

Senior Biokineticist : Nadine Moodley

BSc (Med Sci) Hons Exercise Science (Biokinetics) (UCT)
B Sport Science (UKZN)
Contracted South African Women’s Cricketer

My passion has always been sport and it is one of the main reasons I chose to become a Biokineticist. Being on the sports field felt very ‘at home’ to me and I had realised that that was something I had always wanted be a part of. After completing matric I still had no idea of what I wanted to do except be a cricket player which is not something that I could make a career of. I then decided to go the sport science route as I could not see myself having a 9 to 5 office job.

There were many options and career paths I could’ve chosen but Biokinetics seemed the perfect fit. It was an avenue that I could still be heavily involved in sport and still make a lasting difference in people’s lives with regards to rehabilitation and injury prevention. It was a career path I chose that gave me the opportunity to achieve these ambitions. My internship with Tas Chetty Biokinetics in 2012 gave me a diverse exposure to chronic and rehabilitative conditions that confirmed my love for this career path and I have enjoyed success with Tas ever since! My interests in Biokinetics focus on Injury Rehabilitation, Sports Performance as well as Lifestyle Management.
